The program mails high-quality books directly to children’s homes each month at no cost to families.
The Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness is calling on local businesses, nonprofits and schools in Major, Noble, Pawnee and Osage counties to help expand Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the free book-by-mail program for children under age 5. These four counties are the only areas in the state without local representation.
Local organizations play a key role by helping families enroll, spreading awareness and supporting fundraising to bring monthly high-quality books to more children. OPSR leaders said early access to books strengthens early literacy skills and better prepares children for school.
